FIRE INSPECTIONS

Fire risk assessments are a requirement for most businesses, with the business owner or nominated individual responsible for the fire safety on the nominated premises.

On the October 1st 2006, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into force.

This act requires the responsible person of any non domestic property to carry out and maintain records of a Fire Risk Assessment. The Fire and Rescue Authority are the enforcing authority and the fire safety officer will expect to see a copy of your Risk Assessment upon audit.

Non compliance with the The Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order (FSO) may invalidate your building insurance. Failure to comply with any requirement of the FSO could result in an enforcement notice being served, personal prosecution of the responsible person or even imprisonment.

Most business owners call on the services of a professional, to ensure they are protecting the welfare of the employees, as well as the financial security of the business.
