DAMPER TESTING

A fire damper is basically a closing device in a section of ductwork that automatically shuts off the duct to prevent to passage of fire and smoke if an event occurs in the building. The fire damper should be installed in the ductwork and situated in line with the fire walls and floors where ducts pass through compartment lines.

Ductwork fire dampers are essential items to prevent the loss of life in a fire situation however they need to regularly inspected and where needed, maintained to ensure they work as designated.

Orestone FP offer our clients a regular inspection service whether it be annual, 6 monthly or any other frequency to ensure that the build up of dust, dirt and other contaminants are not going to prevent any of the fire dampers from doing their job if a fire occurs in the building.
